Considering the recent schedule for both teams, Saturday’s result may have been expected, but not the lop-sided score.
Playing for the first time since Tuesday, the Saskatoon Blades blitzed the home-standing Prince Albert Raiders in the first period on the way to a 9-0 triumph. It was P-A’s third game in four nights and it showed in the opening frame as the Bridge City Bunch scored four times and held a 20-6 edge in shots on goal. In the end, Austin Elliott made 25 saves for his second shutout of the season while eight Blue and Gold skaters posted multi-point outings, paced by Brandon Lisowsky’s (pictured) first hat-trick of the season and third of his W-H-L career. The seventh round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2022 added an assist for a four-point night. Egor Sidorov and Lukas Hansen each scored twice with Sidorov chipping in a helper for a three-point night. Conner Roulette and Vaughn Watterodt had a goal and an assist each while Trevor Wong had four assists, captain Aidan De La Gorgendiere had three assists and Tyler Parr chipped in with a pair of helpers as the Blades recorded their sixth consecutive win and upped their record to 21-5-0. The loss was the fifth in a row for the Raiders as they dropped to 10-18-2 on the season. Saskatoon starts the final week of the pre-Christmas schedule with a Tuesday home game against Medicine Hat.
