The final travel restrictions from the pandemic were lifted in October and the Saskatoon Airport is expecting a busy Christmas season. Skyxe’s Vice President of Business Development and Service Quality, CJ Duchinski, expects they will hit almost 2,000 departing passengers a day through Christmas, which is just shy of a regular pre-pandemic year.
The busiest day of the year is usually just before Christmas. Duchinski says it changes each year, depending on what day Christmas lands, but with Christmas on a Sunday this year, she expects the busiest days will be the 22nd and 23rd.
Her travel tips are to check flight times before you arrive at the airport and check with the airline as well to make sure there aren’t any delays. Make sure you arrive at the airport in plenty of time, knowing it will be busy, and if you are bringing gifts, make sure they are unwrapped. As well, keep important items like your keys and your medication with you in your carry-on luggage.
