For anyone in or traveling to southeast Saskatchewan, Environment Canada has issued a “weather statement” stating there is a prolonged snow event in the forecast with 20 to 30 cm by the weekend.

It affects Fort Qu’Appelle, Indian Head, Regina and surrounding area, further south to Estevan and Weyburn, and east to Kamsack, Canora – Yorkton and Melville and surrounding areas – Moosomin, Grenfell – and Carlyle, Oxbow and Carnduff to the U.S. and Manitoba borders. A Colorado low will move through the upper Midwest of the United States bringing snow into the region starting tonight and into tomorrow. With above average temperatures, the snow is expected to be a heavier wet snow. The worst conditions are expected to be in the communities along the international border.
