Battleford RCMP responded to 471 calls for service in the past week including 29 assaults, 15 vehicle accidents, two impaired driving charges, and 78 disturbance calls. However, the detachment also organized a “Cram the Cruizer” food drive event.

Last Saturday, three cruizers parked in front of the Battlefords Co-op Food Store and police say it was a very successful event. All three were crammed full of food and just over $588 in cash donations was also raised, with the proceeds going to the Battlefords and District Food and Resource Centre. The food bank says this is the largest food donation they have collected so far this year.
