Tribal Chief Mark Arcand of the Saskatoon Tribal Council is overwhelmed at the support from the community after asking for presents and donations about ten days ago for the Emergency Wellness Centre on Fairmont Drive.

He says a boardroom in the Wellness Centre’s new digs was filled with toys and a triple-car garage is filled with clothing, blankets, toys and all the essentials for the residents. The presents have since been secreted away, preparing for Santa’s arrival. Tom Boehm from Total Power Solutions donated $10,000 and Ally’s Cake Creeations prepared a full Sunday meal.

Arcand adds that in their first three weeks of operation, there have been no significant incidents and he believes the new building has helped to create a positive environment. The STC thanks the community for all their support.
