The independent entity, the Canadian Transportation Agency, has released new data around complaints filed against airlines. The numbers encompass April to September of this year.
In those six months of 2022, the CTA received the most complaints regarding Canada’s discount airlines; there were 13.7 complaints per 100 flights for Flair Airlines, and 12.6 complaints per 100 flights for Swoop Inc.
Sunwing Airlines received 8.6 complaints per 100 flights, while WestJet received 4.9, and Air Canada received 3.6 per 100 flights. At 2.2 complaints per 100 flights, Air Transat had the lowest number of complaints filed with the CTA.
In terms of foreign-operated airlines, the airline with the highest number of complaints was Qatar Airways at 24.1 complaints per 100 flights.
