Saskatchewan RCMP says a Lloydminster man is in Melfort provincial court today facing second degree murder, attempted murder and assault charges after a Christmas Eve attack.

RCMP were called out on December 24th around 11:20 p.m. to a report of an assault in Margo where officers located an injured woman and infant. The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the baby had injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The officers’ investigation led to an adjacent home where they discovered a woman who was dead. The victim is 51-year-old Sharon Littlewolfe from Margo.

RCMP Major Crimes investigators determined a man, known to all three victims who was in a relationship with Sharon Littlewolfe, had injured all three victims and stole a vehicle from nearby.

At 1:10 am. on Christmas morning Tisdale RCMP received a report after a man approached a home asking for help with a stuck vehicle but then allegedly assaulted the man inside the home. The home’s occupant was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries but was able to restrain the suspect until officers arrived to make an arrest.

Fifty-six-year-old Brian McLeod of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan is charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.
