A woman was arrested and RCMP are looking for two men following an incident New Year’s Day on the Mistawasis First Nation, about 120 kilometres north of Saskatoon.

RCMP received a call about gunshots coming from a boarded up residence. When officers pulled up to the residence in the afternoon, they observed three people leaving the scene in a black truck. The truck ended up getting stuck in the snow and the trio fled on foot.

A 30-year-old woman was arrested—but the two men evaded RCMP. Faith Girourard from Prince Albert faces charges of trafficking methamphetamine as well as over 30 firearms-related charges. An RCMP news release reports two trucks and a car were searched at the residence. Officers say they found six firearms (including a sawed-off shotgun) along with two cans of mace and a large quantity of money. Seven other people inside the boarded up residence were arrested for break and enter.

Blaine Lake RCMP, the North Battleford Crime Reduction Team, and Saskatchewan RCMP Dog teams responded to the call on the Mistawasis First Nation.
