A University of Saskatchewan researcher is being inducted today (Fri) as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Irena Creed is considered one of Canada’s most influential water scientists. Fellows are peer-elected as among the best in their field. She was asked by the U.S. Environmental Protection agency to critique proposed legislation aimed at helping protect freshwater ecosystems and co-chaired the Global Expert Panel on Forests and Water that made recommendations to the United Nations. Creed will be inducted at a special ceremony in Ottawa.
