The trial for one of the ten people charged in connection to the investigation into the death of 25 year old Tiki Laverdiere is scheduled in North Battleford King’s Bench for pre-trial on Friday. Jesse Sangster appeared in Provincial Court on Monday. The 26 year old is charged with first degree murder, kidnapping and improperly interfering with a human body.
Tiki Laverdiere from Edmonton was reported missing in May of 2019 after travelling to the North Battleford area for a funeral. Two months later, a police dog found her remains in a rural area outside of North Battleford.
Nicole Cook and Sangster are the only two left of the ten who are still going through the court system. Cook is scheduled for a six week trial by judge and jury on March 6th.
