Researchers at the University of Saskatchewan say the SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA load in Saskatoon’s wastewater is stagnant. The changes they observed were only up 2.4 per cent which is within what they consider allowable weekly variation. And the viral RNA load is considered medium which they say means the amount of COVID-19 in Saskatoon did not change significantly during the festive season.

The viral RNA load in Prince Albert’s wastewater has dropped by 18.2 per cent and Prince Albert is considered to have a low infection level.

The values are based on three individual daily measurements compared to the weekly average of the previous weeks.

The results for North Battleford are not available due to a delay in the sample being delivered to the University of Saskatchewan.
