Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan’s mission on Saturday is to raise awareness about accessibility and the quality of life of people living with a disability. From 1p.m. until 4 p.m., members of the public can take part in educational activities showcasing the obstacles that people with disabilities tackle daily. Some activities include maneuvering through sand in a wheelchair and using eye contact trackers to operate a computer instead of a mouse. There will be door prizes and refreshments, and also rewards for the teams or individuals who successfully complete the tasks.
The organization hopes the fundraiser will help increase their capacity and services to the public, as well as cover travelling costs when they help communities across the province. The event is being held at the Harry Janzen Auditorium, and there is a 50-dollar entry fee.
