A truck was stopped on Highway 16 west of Yorkton late Tuesday morning, which led to drug charges. A news release from the RCMP says Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan observed a truck failing to slow to 60 km/h when passing an emergency vehicle, so officers pulled the truck over. The truck was searched and police report seizing about 180 grams of suspected met, a few hundred pills, with some believed to be morphine, magic mushrooms, unstamped cannabis, loose cannabis, a carton of unstamped cigarettes, and open bottle of vodka and a bat and baton.

Two men, 32-year-old Dany Caron from Quebec and 49-year-old Jason Palmer from Edmonton are facing charges which include possession for the purpose of trafficking meth and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. They are also facing various provincial offences including failing to slow to 60 while passing an emergency vehicle and having open liquor and cannabis in a vehicle.
