The Hamilton Tiger-Cats now hold on to the longest Grey Cup drought in the CFL following a 33-12 Winnipeg win over the Ti-Cats in this year’s Grey Cup championship game. Heading into the 107th Grey Cup in Calgary, the Blue Bombers hadn’t won a title since 1990 while Hamilton hasn’t won a Grey Cup since 1999 and now the Ti-Cats have the longest championship drought in the league. For the first time ever in a Grey Cup game, the top Canadian was also the game’s MVP. Blue Bomber running back and Winnipeg native Andrew Harris won both honours after a performance that netted him 134 yards on 18 carries with one rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown. The 32 year-old also caught 6 passes for 35 yards. The Bombers defence also helped out in the victory by forcing seven turnovers and earning six sacks. The CFL is now idle until next spring when the 2020 season will get underway. Next year’s Grey Cup game will be held in Regina at Mosaic Stadium on November 22nd, 2020.
