The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Moose Jaw Crime Reduction Team executed two search warrants at homes in Estevan and report seizing seven restricted handguns, three semi-automatic firearms and three long-barreled firearms. Police say a handgun and two of the long-barreled guns were loaded. Officers describe the guns as being unsafely scattered throughout the two homes.

Twenty-five year old Alexander Li from Estevan is facing 28 weapons-related charges, including eight counts of possessing a restricted weapon in a place other than where entitled and eight counts of unlicensed possession of a restricted firearm with readily available ammunition.

The Estevan Police Service, Saskatchewan RCMP Integrated Border Enforcement Team and the Estevan RCMP detachment assisted with this continuing investigation.
