Three individuals were arrested at a Stanley Mission residence after RCMP located and seized a handgun without a serial number, a bag of cannabis, and a sum of cash from the location. La Ronge RCMP’s General Investigation Section executed a search warrant at the location later the same day. Officers found approximately 72 grams of crack cocaine, packaged into individual baggies. Police arrested 19-year-old Tarig Idris from Saskatoon, 22-year-old Mackenzie Cannapotato from Onion Lake and 30-year-old Tracy Ballantyne from Stanley Mission.
They are each facing 6 charges: possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number.
They are scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on February 7th, 2023.
