Saskatoon Police say a 24 year old man is in custody after an incident where a Conducted Energy Weapon had to be used.

Police were called to a home in the 1200 block of Avenue F North at 3:45 this morning regarding a man in a vulnerable state who had barricaded himself with a knife.

The man had threatened to harm himself and when officers couldn’t de-escalate the situation, the Conducted Energy Weapon was used.

The male was taken into custody after being first assessed by Medavie Health Services.

The incident will be reviewed in accordance with Saskatoon Police Service policy.
