The Regina Police Service says it is investigating what initially appeared to be an overdose, as a homicide.

On February 9th, last Thursday, police were called to a home in Regina’s Washington Park neighbourhood a few minutes before noon to a report of an injured person.

A 36-year-old Regina man was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.

The Regina Police Service says further investigation into the circumstances of the death has determined it to be a homicide. This is Regina’s first homicide of 2023.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time.
