Wanuskewin Heritage Park has been given the Tourism Association of Canada Indigenous Tourism Award. The presentation was made during an event in Ottawa. The park on the northern edge of Saskatoon has been sharing indigenous culture and history for more than 26 years. Wanuskewin is on Canada’s tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage designation. the brainchild and creative collaboration of husband and wife duo, Chef Garrett “Rusty” and Kristy
Thienes.

Over the Hill Orchards & Winery is owned by Dean and Sylvia Kreutzer. Over the past 18 years, the
family business has evolved from selling raw fruit to processed fruit products to wine and now specialty
dinners that combine the products grown on the property.
Brenda Peterson, Grasslands National Park – Finalist: Tourism HR Canada Employee of the Year Award.
Brenda Peterson is recognized for her unwavering loyalty and service to Grasslands National Park. She is
Visitor Experience Lead for the East Block. She wears many hats as Visitor Experience Lead, along with
roles as Interpretation Coordinator, Quality Visitor Experience trainer, Park Duty Officer and Fire Patrol
in the East Block.
Tourism Saskatoon, Saskatoon – Finalist: Tourism Innovation Award.
Tourism Saskatoon is a membershipbased, nonprofit visitor and convention bureau that markets
Saskatchewan and region as a destination of choice for leisure and business travel. The Tourism
Innovation Award recognized Tourism Saskatoon’s VIPlane initiative, designed to boost attendance at
the 2019 Canadian Innovation Conference and create a VIP experience.
