Medavie Health Services West had the official opening of their new ambulance base in Martensville on Thursday.
Paramedics presented 16-year-old Jarren Cusson with their “Chiefs Life Saving Award” for his efforts in doing CPR on his father.
On January 14th of this year, at 3:00 a.m., paramedics were called to a home in Martensville where a 39-year-old man was in cardiac arrest.
The patient’s son began CPR and paramedics responded from the new Martensville ambulance base.
Medavie Health Services West says the patient was defibrillated two times and began to breathe again on his own, but they say that thanks to Jarren’s quick action in starting CPR he impacted their ability to save his father’s life.
