Prince Albert Police were involved in a pursuit following a firearms incident late Thursday night.

Around 11:45, officers responded to the Unit Block of 28th Street East. A man and a woman said they were being threatened by two suspects with firearms in the parking lot. The vehicle left and about 10 minutes later, a vehicle matching the description was spotted. Police attempted a traffic stop in the 500 Block of 13th Street East—but the vehicle sped away. Due to the serious nature of the incident, officers pursued the vehicle heading north outside the city where at least one shot was fired at the Police cruiser.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was finally arrested along Highway 693. Police report finding live and spent rounds of ammunition and a long-barreled rifle. There was also a sawed-off shotgun located in a nearby ditch. The vehicle had been stolen early Tuesday morning on the 400 block of 15th Street East. A 21-year-old man is in custody facing numerous charges.
