The opposition in the Saskatchewan legislature is expressing fears about increasing violence in schools across the province.
The NDP says 40 percent of education support workers have experienced some violence in school and demanded action.
Education minister Gordon Wyant says violence in school is a concern and steps are being taken to resolve it.
Opposition critic Carla Beck says nearly half of elementary students say they have been physically assaulted at least once in school and urgent action is needed.
