Education Minister Gordon Wyant has released a framework to create an action plan for how students will be educated from 2020 to 2030. Wyant says input was received form thousands of residents, including students, parents, teachers, education stakeholders, Indigenous leaders, and the business community. They identified the priorities for Saskatchewan classrooms over the next decade. The four priorities within the framework are:
Having an inclusive, safe and welcoming learning environment
Ensuring students have the skills and knowledge fort their future
Forming connections and relationships, and
Supporting mental health and well-being
Education partners will now use these priorities to guide the building of a provincial action plan for Pre-K to Grade 12. An Education Council will be formed to provide leadership and oversight.
