The Saskatoon Police Service says one man was arrested on Thursday after a concerned citizen saw a man with a firearm in a public place.

Officers responded around 5:00 p.m. to the 200 block of 1st Avenue South. The report indicated a man was seen waving a gun.

Police tracked down a suspect and following a brief struggle, took one person into custody.

An imitation firearm was seized from the suspect’s backpack. An 18-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon and carrying an imitation weapon dangerous to public peace.
