The Saskatoon Police Service says one man has been arrested after an assault on a stranger last night (Thurs) in the city’s King George neighbourhood.
Officers responded to a report of an injured person around 9:45 p.m. in the area of Avenue L South and 15th Street.
The victim was a 42-year-old man who had been walking in the area with groceries when a man approached and physically assaulted him. The victim received what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by paramedics.
Around the same time, police received a call to the 800 block of Avenue K South for a report of a man banging on the door of a home. Officers located the suspect standing in the back yard and their investigation led them to conclude he was the same suspect involved in the earlier assault.
A 19-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.
