Depth scoring continued to be big for the Saskatoon Blades as they extended their current winning streak to seven games with a 6-2 triumph Friday over the Raiders in Prince Albert.
For a third consecutive game, a different forward line paced the Bridge City Bunch offensively. On Friday, Conner Roulette, Jake Chiasson (pictured) and Jordan Keller combined for seven points with Roulette recording his second hat-trick of the season. Chiasson had a goal and two assists and Keller chipped in a helper as the Blue and Gold also extended their road winning streak to seven games, won for the 11th time in 12 games and improved their overall record to 44-13-5. In Wednesday’s 5-3 triumph over Swift Current, the line of Josh Pillar-Jayden Wiens and Vaughn Watterodt led the way with three goals and five points while Sunday’s 5-2 Saskatoon victory in Regina saw the top line of Brandon Lisowsky-Trevor Wong and Egor Sidorov pot all five goals and record seven points. For P-A, their fourth straight loss dropped their record to 25-33-3. What hurt the Raiders, in front of 2,758 fans, was that they led 2-1 before the game was nine minutes old, on goals by Sloan Stanick and Ryder Ritchie, and out-shot the Blades 26-24 for the game. But, Saskatoon scored their six goals on just 15 shots in the first two periods, making good on the Grade A scoring chances they were presented with. Charlie Wright and Misha Volotovskii, who was making his return to the line-up for the first time since February 5 and missed 13 games with a broken finger, also connected against Prince Albert goaltender Max Hildebrand. He was replaced to start the third period by Tikhon Chaika. The Bridge City Bunch have won seven of nine head-to-head meetings this season with the Raiders. The 10th and final one goes Sunday at 4 o’clock at SaskTel Centre with CJWW’s broadcast beginning at 3:45.
