The Community Respiratory Illness Surveillance Program Report (CRISPR) indicates one of the deaths was in a person under the age of 19 and there were two between the ages of 20 and 59. The remaining 11 deaths were in those 60 years and older.
There was one death due to influenza that occurred between February 19-25 that was not in the previous CRISPR report due to a lag in reporting. It was the only influenza death over the past six weeks. The virus with the highest numbers over the reporting report come from the common cold.
Even with a recent emergence of Type B influenza, the number of cases confirmed by lab tests remains low at only seven.
