A clinic has opened in Prince Albert to help people in need of addictions services and support. The Rapid Access to Addictions Medicine clinic houses a multi-disciplinary care team of physicians, nurses, and addictions councillors. Known as RAAM clinics, MLA Joe Hargrave says, they are a positive addition to our province’s suite of addictions treatment services. The province set aside $1.6 million in the 2019-20 budget to set up three RAAM clinics in Prince Albert, Saskatoon and Regina. RAAM clinics are operating in Ontario and Manitoba and the province says they have reduced emergency department visits, shortened wait times, and improved outcomes for patients.
