Saskatoon police have charged three people with assault following an altercation early yesterday (Sunday) morning.

Officers responded to a call at 4:10am from an apartment building in the 800 block of Confederation Drive. There was a heavy odour of bear spray and a fog created by a used fire extinguisher.

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

As the investigation proceeded, officers observed multiple girls and women in the area with a significant amount of blood on them. A 16-year-old and a 19-year-old were arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Officers indicate information was received that the injured man had allegedly been involved in a domestic dispute with one of the women charged. He is now charged with domestic assault. Police says the investigation continues and more charges may be laid.
