Saturday police deployed a Conducted Energy Weapon while responding to a call and the incident involved a 14 year old girl.

The Saskatoon Police Services says the girl was attempting self harm with a knife, and officer’s attempts to deescalate the situation were unsuccessful.

Officers were called to the 400 block of Witney Avenue South in Saskatoon’s Meadowgreen neighbourhood around 1:00 p.m.

The CEW was deployed, the teen was medically cleared on scene by Medavie Health Services, and she was transferred to hospital by police for a mental health assessment.
