The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team began looking for 38-year-old Dustin Ratt mid-March. He had an outstanding warrant from the Prince Albert Police Service for escaping custody. Last Thursday, officers determined Ratt was at a home on Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation.

When they arrived, RCMP say Ratt was seen taking off in a truck. A tire deflation device was used, and the truck was disabled, but police report that Ratt fled on foot into a wooded area. He was tracked to a nearby home and was arrested without incident. It was determined the truck had been reported stolen in Shellbrook the day before.

Ratt’s new charges include possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and flight from a peace officer. Ahtahkakoop RCMP, Big River RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s North Battleford Crime Reduction Team assisted in this investigation.
