Before the hectic season really takes hold, you can hang out with some adoptable pets while enjoying some dainties and shopping. It’s the Saskatoon SPCA Auxiliary’s ‘Christmas for the Animals” open house on Sunday from noon to 4.
The proceeds go towards the shelter’s Second Chance fund, which provides lifesaving treatments for ill or injured animals at the Saskatoon SPCA. Spokesperson Jasmine Hanson says some of the highlights of the afternoon include a silent auction, crafts and baking for sale and a raffle, and you can visit the animals on the adoption floor.
If you are an animal lover who can’t have a pet at home, you can get some cuddles at the shelter, Hanson says. There are lots of cats to visit and dogs to walk. If you would like to help out with some crafts or baking, drop it off at the shelter on Clarence Avenue before noon on Sunday.
