The provincial NDP filed an Official Opposition freedom of information request that shows during the first six weeks of this year, the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) did not have an ambulance available to respond to 216 calls. This does not include communities serviced by private ambulances, such as Saskatoon.

Regina had 49 incidents where no ambulance was available. Buffalo Narrows and Meadow Lake were next, with 24 and 17 respectively. Another 37 communities with SHA ambulances reported at least one incident of ‘No Ambulance Available.’

“Folks across Saskatchewan can’t get an ambulance when they need it,” said NDP Leader Carla Beck, who criticized Premier Scott Moe and his government for “downplaying the mess he’s made.”
