The Saskatoon Fire Department is estimating damage at $30,000 following a multi-unit structure fire Tuesday morning on Confederation Drive.

At 6:37 a.m. fire crews responded with three fire engines, a ladder truck, a rescue unit and the Battalion Chief to flames and smoke reported on the second floor of a building in the 800 block of Confederation Drive.

Within 25 minutes, fire fighters had the fire under control and began ventilating the structure. The Fire Investigator and a Saskatoon Police Investigator are continuing to look into the fire with no cause or origin having yet been determined.

One fire fighter was taken to hospital with an injury sustained while rescuing an occupant of the building. The fire fighter was assessed and released. All occupants were reported to have evacuated the structure safely.
