There is a decline in both COVID-related deaths and hospitalizations in the new bi-weekly report from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health released on Thursday.

Ten people died in the two-week period ending last Saturday, April 8. Eight of those deaths occurred during the first week between March 26 and April 1. Nine were 60 years of age and over and the other was between the ages of 20 and 59.

Hospitalizations due to COVID have gone from 100 three weeks ago down to 64 in the week ending last Saturday. Only five people were in the Intensive Care Unit.

There was also one flu-related death in the week of March 26th to April 1st. The number of lab confirmed influenza cases remained stable with seven positives reported last week.
