If you are in Saskatoon, you may have noticed City crews working day and night over the past week doing the spring street sweeping on high traffic streets and in the business improvement districts. The City says the warm weather arrived later than usual, but because of the city-wide snow removal, the streets dried quickly so the work was able to begin on schedule, and it will continue for the next few weeks. Then, residential street sweeping will begin in early May. There will be No Parking signs and vehicles will be towed for the curb-to-curb sweep.

It’s also pothole season, but the City is expecting there could be fewer of them this year because there is less moisture on the streets, because of the snow removal.
Major potholes will have a temporary fix before permanent repairs begin. You can report potholes through the city’s website or by calling the Customer Care Centre (306-975-2476).

As well, road painting on some of the major arterial streets and crosswalks has begun, and will continue as long as daytime temperatures remain above zero. Then comes line marking on the swept priority streets.
