Spring runoff is creating rapid river flows in the Vanguard, Gravelbourg and Hodgeville areas, about 70 kilometres southeast of Swift Current.
The Saskatchewan Water Security Agency reports flows at the Village of Vanguard appear to be about a one-in-75 year event, and are greater than water flows in both 1997 and 2011.
While no communities are at risk of flooding, water will likely impact municipal roads and highway crossings, as well as Shamrock Regional Park.
The Water Security Agency is monitoring levels at Lafleche Dam and plans to reduce flowers in the coming days as conditions allow.
At last word, the water flow situation in Swift Current has stabilized, but residents are being told to stay away from the water. The Swift Current Fire Department reports numerous adults and children have been seen walking beyond the flood barrier.
