The Regina Police Service says two Regina men have been arrested and charged after their investigation revealed that the victim, under the age of 16, had been sexually assaulted by two male suspects over a period of several years.

The investigation began Wednesday April 12th, 2023, and involved the Regina Children’s Justice Centre (RCJC), the Saskatchewan Integrated Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) and the Regina Police Service Vice Unit.

Thirty-six-year-old Matthew Krohn and 36-year-old David Krohn, both of Regina, are charged with one count each of Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 Years of Age; Sexual Interference; Making Child Pornography; Possession of Child Pornography; and Luring a Person Under 18 Years of Age By Means of Telecommunication.

Matthew Krohn is also charged with one count each of Invitation to Sexual Touching; Making Available Child Pornography; Obtain Sexual Services for Consideration from a Person Under 18 Years of Age.

Matthew and David Krohn made their first appearances on these charges in Provincial Court Wednesday.

The Saskatchewan Integrated Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) is comprised of investigators from the R.C.M.P., Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.

Matthew Krohn’s next appearance in provincial court is set for Monday at 2 p.m., while David Krohn’s next appearance is Tuesday at 2 p.m.
