There are new taxi regulations in effect in Prince Albert. Mayor Greg Dionne says the new bylaw clarifies some regulations and has added requirements aimed at making taxis safer. He says, “We have also added some regulations that ensure protection of the consumer.” Among the changes: Taxis are required to have an in-car camera mounted showing the entire interior, and have a sealed meter to accurately charge rates. Brokers must also have a complaint system in place that maintains a process to promptly investigate and respond to complains from the public.
