Saskatoon police say they have been called to three liquor store robberies in the past ten days.

The first was April 15th at 11:30 p.m. at a liquor store in the 3100 block of Preston Avenue South. Three people had entered the store wearing medical masks, carrying reusable grocery bags which the loaded with bottles of liquor. When confronted by a store employee they pushed her down, brandished a knife and fled in a 2002 Maroon Pontiac Sunfire.

April 18th at 9:45 p.m., police were called to a robbery at a liquor store in the100 block of Primrose Drive where four suspects entered the store again with masks and reusable bags. This time the loaded up the bags with bottles of liquor and threatened staff with bear spray before fleeing in a vehicle that matched the description of the prior robbery.

And last Friday around 6:30 p.m., police responded to a robbery in progress at a liquor store in the1800 block of McOrmand Drive. Two people were arrested in the area without incident. A 43-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were arrested in the area of the third robbery and are facing robbery, weapons and drug charges.

Further charges are expected to be laid as the investigation continues.
