Maple Creek RCMP continue to urge possible victims to come forward after laying charges in connection to a third victim in their historical sexual assault investigation.

On Friday Maple Creek re-arrested Dexter Bacsu for a third time and charged him with one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference. He will be in cout on those charges May 11.

On April 25th, last Tuesday, Maple Creek RCMP received a report of a historic sexual assault. Police say their investigation determined an adult male sexually assaulted a male youth during a sport-related trip during the early 2000s. The next day 64-year-old Dexter Bacsu from Maple Creek was arrested and charged.

After reporting that first arrest, Maple Creek RCMP were contacted by a second alleged victim who also indicated they were assaulted during a sport-related trip. Dexter Bascu was arrested for a second time and charged.

He now faces three counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual interference. RCMP say Dexter Bacsu was a long-time teacher in Maple Creek schools and continued to work as a substitute teacher until recently. Chinook School Division has advised he is no longer an employee. Dexter Bacsu volunteers in local youth sports and music programming, including as a coach and trip chaperone.

Investigators believe there may be other victims.
