Saskatoon’s Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 100 block of Avenue H North shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday morning that sent three Saskatoon Police officers and one occupant of the house to hospital for smoke inhalation.

The Fire Department was alerted by police of a fire in the back yard of a house and as crews were dispatched an update came in from police that the fire was threatening the house.

When firefighters arrived, they could see flames visible from the rear of the building and a neighbouring house also caught fire. Both fires in the two structures were under control at 5:44 a.m. The Fire Investigator determined the cause of the fire is suspicious and damage is estimated at $100,000. The fire is now being investigated by Saskatoon Police.
