On Monday morning around 1:30 a.m. the Saskatoon Police Service made an arrest after watching a blue SUV parked in the 300 block of Confederation Drive. Officers determined the licence plate didn’t match the vehicle and when officers started talking to the three people inside, two cooperated and got out of the back seat. The driver however sped off in the SUV.
Police then received a report of a vehicle colliding with a tree in a field near Range Road 3073 and Christiansen Road. The Air Support Unit saw the crashed vehicle and spotted a suspect fleeing into a nearby farmyard where he then briefly went inside a camper and then tried to access parked vehicles.
With assistance from the Canine Unit a suspect was apprehended, and a 34-year-old man is charged with Evade Police, Dangerous Driving and Break and Enter.
