A North Battleford man faces 15 total counts on nine different charges following a robbery and subsequent pursuit back late on Tuesday night.

Thirty-three-year-old Tyler Mosquito and another person approached a residence in North Battleford, threatened the occupants and stole a set of keys from them. The robbery report came into the Battlefords R-C-M-P at about 11:45 p.m. on May 2. Officers located the suspect vehicle on 101st Street and attempted a traffic stop. But, the vehicle continued driving, eventually trying to flee at a high rate of speed when it passed a patrolling unmarked police vehicle, only to collide with another vehicle at the intersection of 103rd Street and 15th Avenue. Officers arrested the passenger of the suspect vehicle at the scene and eventually released him with no charge. Mosquito was the driver and attempted to flee on foot, but was arrested a short time later with the assistance of Saskatchewan R-C-M-P Police Dog Services. A subsequent investigation of the suspect vehicle led to officers locating and seizing bear spray, a baton and brass knuckles. Mosquito is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday.
