On Saturday, the Prince Albert Police Service responded to a 911 call, and upon arrival located a deceased 35-year-old woman.

Just before 3:30am on Saturday, officers arrived at a home in the 1100 Block of 2nd Street East. Police found the woman inside and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say another victim, a girl, was also found and taken to Victoria Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 45-year-old man inside the residence was arrested and has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Attempted Murder. The victims and the accused are known to each other. He will make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday.

Residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.
