A woman abducted yesterday from The Pas, Manitoba was located safe inside a cabin 135km away from where she was taken.
At 11:50am Saturday, The Pas RCMP received a report of a 24-year-old woman being kidnapped by an unknown man on Highway 10.
Officers implemented police road blocks in the area, and Saskatchewan RCMP followed suit due to the proximity of the abduction to the provincial border.
Through investigation, officers say they determined the name of the suspect and a description of his vehicle. At 1:10pm officers arrived at a cabin in the Red Deer River area that was associated with the man.
Police say as they arrived at the cabin, the missing woman could be seen through the window, and she was quickly and safely removed.
RCMP officers suspect that this was a random kidnapping, and the 34-year-old man’s name will be released after all his changes are formally laid.
