Saskatchewan and Peterborough, Ontario’s Internet Child Exploitation Units have charged a Regina man with four counts of child luring. Between May 10th and 18th, officers conducted an online investigation using a number of social media platforms.

Thirty-seven-year-old Warren Gnam, whose user names on social media are Captain Canada and Warren Gnam has been released on numerous conditions with his next court date June 14th in Regina.

Police urge parents to monitor their child’s online social media presence and take a proactive approach to help protect them from online sexual exploitation by discussing internet safety and not to disclose personal information.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit says, “Children are our most valuable and precious members of society. Many victims of child sexual abuse are so young that they cannot tell their story. Every time an image or video depicting that abuse is shared, the child is re-victimized. The Saskatchewan ICE Unit will continue to aggressively identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children.”
