Saskatoon Police responded to a weapons complaint early this morning (Fri) around 12:30 in the 1000 block of 8th Street East. Officers were told that while driving, people in a black Volkswagen Atlas pointed a sawed-off shotgun and another gun out the window at them.
The vehicle was located in the 100 block of Avenue P South with two people walking away from it. They and the driver who was in the vehicle were taken into custody without incident. Police allege that a loaded, sawed-off shotgun and ammunition were found in a backpack when the vehicle was searched and a male was concealing a large knife, bear spray and a loaded handmade handgun. A woman was in possession of meth, fentanyl and various drug paraphernalia.
A 22-year-old man is facing 13 weapons-related offences and is charged with breach of probation and was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. A 30-year-old man is facing eight firearms-related charges and a 31-year-old woman is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
