Parkland Ambulance in Prince Albert recommends residents have Ice Kits.

They are small two-sided sheets with space to list basic and vital medical information in case of accidents or incapacitating illnesses.

Lyke Karsiuk of Parkland Ambulance says they are invaluable to paramedics in the field like in cases where patients are allergic to medications.

He also says knowing a patient’s blood type is helpful when emergency hospital care or surgery is necessary.

Karasiuk says keeping several visible at home, in a vehicle’s glove box or in a wallet are good ideas.

They are available at Lake Country Pharmacies in Prince Albert in addition to both Parkland Ambulance locations.
