Battlefords RCMP responded to an open, outdoor area on Moosomin First Nation about a sudden death around 5:45 Sunday morning. Thirty-five-year-old Tyler Mooswa from the First Nation was declared dead by EMS at the scene. Police consider his death suspicious and RCMP Major Crimes has taken charge of the investigation.

RCMP say residents of Moosomin First Nation may notice an increased police presence in the community. If an increased risk to public safety is identified, the public will be notified. Anyone with information about Tyler Mooswa’s death or anyone who had contact with him late Saturday night into early in the morning on Sunday is asked to contact the police immediately.
